一着類之事
高知之面々寄合格其並之番外迄ハ絹紬木綿
を着し物頭使番迄ハ紬木綿を可着番組以下ニ
至而者年始礼日之出仕たりといふ共木綿紙
子之外着すへからす古キ小袖下着ニハ不苦帷子
上下者当分有合ニ古キ可着といふとも此以後支
度仕候ハヽ布木綿之外可為無用但拝領物者各
別ニ候且又御国ニ而他所之使者等取扱仕者右之定
に不及といへとも是又麁相成小袖可用之候隠居
并医師之類勿論女之衣服ハ其品不被 仰出候
得者身上ニ応し軽きを用可申事

差し支えないこと
一、衣類の件について
高知の面々（上級武士）から寄合格およびその同等の番外までは絹・紬・木綿を着用すること。物頭・使番までは紬・木綿を着用すべきこと。番組以下に至っては、年始の礼日の出仕であっても、木綿・紙子以外は着用してはならない。古い小袖を下着にするのは差し支えないが、帷子・上下は当分の間、手持ちの古いものを着用するとしても、今後新調する場合は布・木綿以外は使用してはならない。ただし拝領物は別格である。また、当国において他所の使者等を取り扱う者は、右の定めに及ばないとはいえ、これもまた粗相にならない程度の小袖を用いるべきである。隠居および医師の類は当然のこと、女性の衣服についてはその詳細は仰せ出されていないが、身分に応じて質素なものを用いるべきことである。
付け加えて
面々の組支配の者および召し使いの男女の衣服も、右に応じて粗服を着用するよう申し付け、油断なく吟味すべきこと。

Article 1: Regarding clothing
High-ranking retainers (takachi) through those of yoriai rank and equivalent ban-gai positions may wear silk, pongee, and cotton. Mono-gashira and tsukaiban ranks should wear pongee and cotton. For ban-gumi ranks and below, even when attending New Year ceremonies, only cotton and paper garments may be worn, excluding all else. Using old kosode as undergarments is acceptable, but for katabira and kamishimo, while existing old garments may be worn for now, any new preparations hereafter must be limited to hemp and cotton only. However, bestowed garments are exceptional. Moreover, those who handle envoys from other domains in our province, while not bound by these regulations, should still use kosode that avoid impropriety. Retired persons and physicians are naturally included, and while specific regulations for women's clothing have not been announced, they should use modest attire appropriate to their station.
