十郎左衛門（定由）が出向いたところ、端午御祝儀御献上の儀についてはもはやその必要はない旨の御指図があった。
五月二十一日、御家督御礼の儀を御名代をもって申し上げたく、またその節の御献上物の御支度も出来上がったため、御用番水野和泉守殿へ御留守居大関新五左衛門（直看）が左の通りの書付を持参し差し出した。
松平千次郎儀、幼年のことでございますので
家督の御礼は名代をもって申し上げます。以上

Jūrozaemon (Sadayoshi) appeared and was instructed that the presentation of celebratory gifts for the Boys' Festival was no longer necessary.
On the 21st day of the 5th month, wishing to express gratitude for the succession through a representative, and with the preparation of presentation gifts for that occasion now complete, Edo representative Ōzeki Shingozaemon (Naomi) brought and submitted the following written document to Lord Mizuno Izumi-no-kami, who was on duty:
As Matsudaira Senjirō is of tender years,
the succession ceremony gratitude shall be expressed through a representative. The above.
