日夜大地震にて潰家死人等有之候段訴出候付其段
先御届申上置候処日々少々も震止不申候二付役所外面
者簀之仮小屋にて御用弁罷在候仕合二候処又々去月
廿九日昼頃大地震致し殊二潰家死人等有之并苗代水
冠ニ相成候段訴出并御廻米乱俵二相成候旨訴出候処廿
四日ゟ廿九日迄雨降不申候処晦日明方ゟ雨降其外ハ
折々大風吹上右村々雪相降候由相聞候委細之儀者追

榊原式部大輔の預かり所である越後国頸城郡の村々で、去る月二十四日夜の大地震により潰れた家や死人等があった旨訴え出たため、その件を先にお届け申し上げたところ、日々少しも震動が止まないため、役所の外で簾の仮小屋にて公用を処理している次第でございます。また去る月二十九日昼頃に大地震があり、特に潰れた家や死人等があり、また苗代が水に浸かってしまった旨訴え出があり、また御廻米が散乱した俵になった旨訴え出がありました。二十四日から二十九日まで雨は降らなかったのですが、晦日明け方から雨が降り、その他は折々大風が吹き上がり、これらの村々に雪が降った由を聞いております。詳細については追って

Regarding Shiozaki Village along the Chikuma River in Sarashina District, Shinshū Province, which is under the domain of Lord Matsudaira Hida-no-kami, I was stationed there together with my colleague Takasaki Zenhachi for inspection and preparation duties for national construction work.
