地震よとおもふや否はや家居倒れたりつれとも怪我
ハせさりしかども驚き周章只くらき所をさぐりまはし
からうして少々破れたる所より先首はかりハ出されと
も体の出兼たるを兎角して這ひ出たはハ屋根の上なりく
らさハ暗し婦人のことなり踏もならわぬ萱屋の上を伏
して横につたいたる程に瓦の端の処に至りたれハ材
木を積たる所あり是へ乗移りて漸々と地へ下り立た
り供の男も同しく継て出たるか屈竟にて瓦の上をは
しるにさら〳〵と瓦の落る音して辷り落たり男しまふ
たりといふ声に怪我せしならんと母はおもひしに
溝の中へか落チあやまちせす助りけるとそ母は本堂
まて程ある道をころび倒れてたとるに敷石の所に人
多くころひたふれ気絶の者と見しも本堂に至り付
ハ燈明なんところ〳〵と足ふミもならぬ程となり内陣
に至るに人少し古来より二基を常燈明とす一基ハは
や消失て小暗く心細きに地震ハ猶ゆりやます其内に
人も数しひなり法師ありてあちこち立ふるまふハ本
尊を出し奉ると見えて御戸帳ひら〳〵とせしやかて
法師大音声にてもはやこゝは危なし出よ〳〵といふ初ハこゝ

宿坊に泊まり、既に床に臥していた頃、大地が揺れ動き、これは地震だと思うかと思わないかのうちに、家屋が倒れました。しかし怪我はしませんでしたが、驚き慌てふためき、ただ暗い所を探り回し、からうじて少々破れた所より、まず頭だけは出せましたが、体が出にくいのを何とかして這い出てみると、そこは屋根の上でした。暗くて暗く、婦人のことですから、踏み慣れない茅屋根の上を這って横に伝って行くうちに、瓦の端の所に至ると、材木を積んである所がありました。ここへ乗り移って漸く地面へ降り立ちました。供の男も同じく続いて出てきましたが、急いでいたために瓦の上を走ると、ざらざらと瓦の落ちる音がして滑り落ちました。「男が駄目になった」
という声に、怪我をしたのだろうと母は思いましたが、溝の中へ落ちただけで過ちもせず助かったそうです。母は本堂まで程ある道を転び倒れながらたどり着くと、敷石の所に人が多く転び倒れ、気絶した者と見えましたが、本堂に到着すると、燈明などがところどころにあって足踏みもならない程になり、内陣に至ると人が少なくなりました。古来より二基を常燈明としていますが、一基はもう消えて薄暗く心細い中、地震はなお揺り止まず、その間に人も数少なくなりました。法師がいて、あちこち立ち働いているのは本尊を出し奉ろうとしているようで、御戸帳をひらひらとさせ、やがて法師が大声で「もはやここは危ない、出よ出よ」と言います。最初はここ
