浅間山古代大焼ノ事
信濃国佐久郡浅間ヶ嶽ハ北国十州ノ中頭碩二
シテ高キ事富士二ツキ常二峯二火アリテ燃出
ルト言事ヲシラス佐久郡ナカハ山ノ半腹二ア
り鶏山老人鄙問答二曰此山スへテ硫黄ノ気ア
リ濁川ノ源血ノ池三ッ有皆地溲ノコリタル二シ
テカキサカセハ血ノコトシ山ノ腰温泉多シ湯
ノ平毒水弥陀ヶ嶽ノ湯和久菱野ノ湯山ノ湯ミ
ナ此嵩ノ気ナリ湯和久二向ヒタル大囘二ヤチ
マクソトイフ土春二ナリテ火ヲ附ルハ燃ルト

川上筋飢饉の事
浅間山古代大噴火の事
信濃国佐久郡浅間ヶ岳は、北国十州の中で最も大きく、
高さは富士山に次ぐものである。常に峰に火があって燃え出
ることは言うまでもない。佐久郡中は山の中腹にあ
る。鶏山老人の『鄙問答』に曰く、この山はすべて硫黄の気が
あり、濁川の源流、血の池が三つある。皆地中の溶液が凝り固まったもので
あり、これをかき混ぜれば血のようである。山の麓には温泉が多い。湯
の平、毒水、弥陀ヶ岳の湯、和久、菱野の湯、山の湯、み
な此の山の気によるものである。湯和久に向かった大きな窪地にヤチ
マクソという土がある。春になって火を付けると燃える。

On the ancient great eruption of Mount Asama
Mount Asama in Saku District, Shinano Province, is the largest among the ten northern provinces, and its height is second only to Mount Fuji. It goes without saying that fire constantly burns at its peak and erupts. The center of Saku District is located on the mountain's mid-slope. The elderly sage Keizan states in his "Conversations on Rural Matters" that this mountain is entirely filled with sulfurous vapors, and there are three sources of muddy rivers and blood pools. These are all formed from underground solutions that have congealed, and when stirred, they appear like blood. There are many hot springs at the foot of the mountain: Yunodaira, Dokusui, the hot springs of Mount Mida-ga-take, Waku, Hishino hot springs, and Yama-no-yu - all are products of this mountain's vapors. In a large depression facing Yuwaku, there is a soil called Yachimakuso. When fire is applied to it in spring, it burns.
