権現堂川岸へ掛ヶ上州藤木河岸ト申所ニテ舟

一、日光道中幸手宿問屋年寄どもが申し上げます。当宿より八丁東の方にて総権現堂川（ただし利根川の内にございます）、昨夜中から今日九日九つ時まで、家財道具、五六寸角の立柱、四五尺丸の角材、小木、敷居、鴨居、戸板等、その外臼、杵、重箱、飯鉢の類が川一杯に流れ、舟の通行ができません。激しく流れております。干上がった川がある所では、黄黒の泥水が三四尺も増水し、男女出家が溺死したのは、これまでに五六十人、馬は何匹も流されました。河中のことは、どれほど流れているか分かりません。ここで破れた鞍に「上州群馬郡川中村」と書き付けがありましたので、この権現堂川岸へかけて、上州藤木河岸と申す所にて船の者が承ったところによりますと、川島村と申しますのは伊香保湯より二
