　　　干信長公＿一初称＿二従四位下河内守正虎と＿一 後入道

　　一按に旧藩記録共係＿二干天正八年或九年に＿一 一説為＿二
　　　六年戌寅と也関東回国使答書に曰能州入部之
　　　年歴慥不＿レ知由古老申伝と云々寛永系図伝に

現代語訳

その意を得るべきものなり。
　　十月二日　　信長　朱印
　　　　前田又左衛門殿

一、衛得雑記に云う、右筆は楠長庵なり。本封叙次考に云う、楠長庵は楠正成十一代の後胤で信長公に仕え、初めは従四位下河内守正虎と称し、後に入道して式部卿法印長庵と号したという。

一、考察するに、旧藩記録は共に天正八年或いは九年に係る。一説では六年戌寅とする。関東回国使答書に曰く「能州入部の年歴は確かでなく、古老の申し伝えによる」という。寛永系図伝にはその年月を載せず、古伝がないためであろうか。

その後久しく音信がないため、明日こちらへ参り候条、申し入れ候。何事も相応の御用を承り候。なお面談にて詳しく申し述べるべき儀がございます。恐々謹言。

右は羽咋郡菅原村菅原神社別当成喜坊所蔵なり。考察するに天正年中、藩祖封国入部の時に贈られた書簡であろうか。

1. According to the Etoku Zasshi, the secretary was Kusunoki Choan. According to the Honpo Joji-ko, Kusunoki Choan was an eleventh-generation descendant of Kusunoki Masashige who served Lord Nobunaga. He was initially called Junior Fourth Rank Lower Kawachi-no-kami Masatora, and later became a monk and took the title Shikibu-kyo Hoin Choan.

1. In my analysis, the old domain records all relate to Tensho 8 or 9. One theory suggests it was the 6th year, Boshin. The Kanto Kaikoku Shi Tosho states: "The exact year of entry into Noto Province is uncertain and is based on the oral traditions of elders." The Kanei Keizu-den does not record the year and month, perhaps because there are no ancient traditions.

Since then there has been no correspondence for a long time, so I shall visit you tomorrow to make this request. I will undertake any appropriate duties. I will explain the details in person. With great respect and humble words.

This is owned by Seikibo, the chief priest (betto) of Sugawara Shrine in Sugawara Village, Hakui District. In my analysis, this may be a letter sent during the time when the domain founder entered his granted territory during the Tensho era.
