干金沢へ＿一云々自注に云異説に八万石と非二万石實也
平次按に前件之傳説區々不＿二 一概＿一其年歴も亦
區々也古定書慶長十六年九月三日利光卿在判
屋敷奉行法度書如＿レ左載＿レ之
一今度高岡衆江相渡候家中下屋敷替地之事
此已前之屋敷通相構之外に而可遣云々
同年九月四日横山々城守等屋敷奉行宛書付
高岡衆屋敷之儀御理被申上候条此度之儀は此本書付

右據るに＿二判書等＿一養老附諸士返＿二金沢へ＿一慶長十六年
而其以前既被＿レ返両度も乎金沢細見図譜に
慶長十年同十六年為＿二両度と＿一恐くは誤慶長十年は
利長卿致仕之年也

金沢へ」などと云う。自注には「異説では八万石であり、二万石ではない。実際のところである」という。
平次が按ずるに、前件の伝説は区々として一概ではなく、その年歴もまた区々である。古い定書で慶長十六年九月三日に利光卿の判がある屋敷奉行法度書を以下に載せる。
一、今度高岡衆へ相渡し候家中下屋敷替地の事
これ以前の屋敷通りに相構えるほか、遣わすべし云々
同年九月四日、横山山城守等屋敷奉行宛ての書付
「高岡衆屋敷の儀、御理を申し上げられ候条、この度の儀はこの本書付を相渡されるべき旨御意候」云々
右の判書等に拠れば、養老附の諸士を金沢へ返したのは慶長十六年であり、その以前に既に返されたのが両度もあったのであろうか。『金沢細見図譜』には慶長十年と同十六年を両度としているが、恐らくは誤りであろう。慶長十年は利長卿が致仕した年である。

一円仰せ付けられ訖んぬ。この旨を守り忠勤を抽んずべきものなり。よってくだんの如し。

Heiji's analysis: The aforementioned traditions vary considerably and are not uniform, and their chronologies also differ greatly. An old established document with Lord Toshimitsu's seal dated the 3rd day of the 9th month of Keicho 16, being regulations for mansion magistrates, is recorded below:
1. Regarding the matter of replacement land for lower residences within the household that were distributed to the Takaoka retainers this time
These should be managed in addition to the previous residential arrangements, etc.
Document addressed to mansion magistrates including Yokoyama Yamashiro-no-kami on the 4th day of the 9th month of the same year:
"Regarding the matter of the Takaoka retainers' residences, since the reasoning has been presented, it is ordered that this original document should be delivered for this occasion," etc.
Based on the above sealed documents and others, the retirement-support retainers were returned to Kanazawa in Keicho 16, but had they already been returned twice before that time? The "Kanazawa Detailed Map Genealogy" lists Keicho 10 and Keicho 16 as two occasions, but this is probably an error. Keicho 10 was the year when Lord Toshinaga retired.

This copy, recorded in various old domain records, was made as Ieyasu's sealed document, and even now at Matsu-
