Note: At the time of departure, he was granted an audience and received御流れ (ceremonial sake). Furthermore, during the journey he served in lodging arrangement duties under Yokoyama Kazuma, and from Matsumae onward, all regular duty personnel were ordered to return together.
First, same year, 5th month: At Ezo-chi, regarding Shinkuni Genzo who was training in町間の術 (urban warfare techniques), he was ordered to serve as his replacement in duties under Yokoyama Kazuma when needed, with the stipulation that it should not interfere with his regular duties.
First, same month: At the same location, he was appointed to the temporary position of御徒目付 (foot soldier inspector) for the寄合備 (assembled reserves).
