一、四月十三日、上使として御老中秋元但馬守(喬朝)殿を通じて国元への御暇(休暇)を仰せ出された。例の通り白銀と御袷を御拝領(上使の取扱いは例の如し)。御退出後、御礼として御老中・御側御用人へ御廻勤された。
一、同月十四日、御登城して御暇の御礼を仰せ上げ、例の通り御馬を御拝領。その後、お連れになった御家来の酒井典膳(知房)が御目見を仰せ付けられ、退座の際に御時服を拝領することを仰せ付けられ済んだ後、御退出の際に右の御礼として御老中・御側御用人・若年寄中へ御廻勤された。
一、同月十五日、御拝領の御馬を御老中稲葉丹後守(正通)殿より使者によって牽いて来させた。
一、同月二十六日、江戸を御発駕、中山道を通って御旅行された。
一、閏四月九日、御着城された。
一、同月十一日、右同じく(帰国)につき御礼として御使者稲葉多門(正方)を江戸表へ派遣することとし、今日福井を出立。
一、同月十五日、御書をもって例の通り御国産の初鯖を献上された。
一、同月二十八日、御帰国の御礼として御使者稲葉多門(正方)をもって例の通り奉書紙並びに昆布・干鯛・御樽を献上された。
公方様・大納言様に御目見を仰せ付けられ退去し、再び罷り出て自分の御礼を申し上げ、御太刀・銀馬代を献上した。

One: On the 13th day of the 4th month, through the Senior Councilor Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Takaatomo) serving as imperial messenger, permission for leave to return to his domain was granted. As customary, white silver and a lined silk garment were bestowed (the imperial messenger's protocol followed precedent). After withdrawal, he made courtesy calls to the Senior Councilors and Chamberlains as thanks.
One: On the 14th day of the same month, he went to the castle to express gratitude for the leave, and as customary received a horse as a gift. Thereafter, his retainer Sakai Tenzen (Tomofusa) whom he had brought along was granted an audience, and upon withdrawing was granted a court garment. After this was completed, upon departure he made courtesy calls to the Senior Councilors, Chamberlains, and Junior Councilors as thanks.
One: On the 15th day of the same month, the gifted horse was brought by messenger from Senior Councilor Inaba Tango-no-kami (Masatō).
One: On the 26th day of the same month, he departed Edo and traveled via the Nakasendō route.
One: On the 9th day of the intercalary 4th month, he arrived at his castle.
One: On the 11th day of the same month, regarding the same matter (returning to domain), as thanks he dispatched the messenger Inaba Tamon (Masakata) to Edo, who departed Fukui today.
One: On the 15th day of the same month, through a letter he presented the first mackerel of his domain's products as customary.
One: On the 28th day of the same month, as thanks for returning to his domain, through the messenger Inaba Tamon (Masakata) he presented ceremonial paper, kelp, dried sea bream, and sake barrels as customary.
He was granted audiences with His Lordship the Shogun and the Major Counselor, withdrew, then appeared again to express his personal thanks and presented a ceremonial sword and silver horse substitute.
