ぢらが。この国にきたらんことをしりて。相まつ事
久しとて。むつまじくしたしみ給ひ。御 弟子（でし）達（たち）
に。かたりてのたまはく。この沙門は。第（だい）三地のぼ
さつなり。なんぢらが智慧（ちゑ）のをよぶところに
あらずとぞ。仰られける。其としの夏六月に。
大 悲（ひ）胎蔵（たいぞう）大 曼荼羅（まんだら）。灌頂（くはんぢやう）五 部（ぶ）の誓水（せいすい）をうけ
おなじき秋七月に。金剛界（こんがうかい）のまんだら。灌頂（くはんぢやう）に
いる。八月に伝法（でんぼう）阿 闍梨（しやり）位（ゐ）の灌頂（くはんぢやう）をうく。此日
恵果（けいくわ）あじやり空海（くうかい）を御前にめされ。金剛頂経（こんかうちやうきやう）
大日 経（きやう）蘇悉地経（そしつちきやう）等（とう）の秘密経（ひみつきやう）ならひに絵図（ゑづ）の

まんだら。其外 《振り仮名：諸道具｜□□□うぐ》をあたへ。わたしての給く。
むかし大 毘盧遮那（ひるしやな）。大日 世（せ）そん。秘密真言（ひみつしんごん）の印明（ゐんみやう）
をもつて。金（こん）がうさつたにさづく。薩埵（さつた）これを竜（りう）
猛（みやう）につたへ。それよりてん〴〵して。大 広智（くわうち）にい
たりぬ。大　広智（くわうち）は三 朝（てう）くわんぢやうの国師（こくし）として。
すでに今我にさづけたり。なんぢはまことに真言（しんこん）
行法（ぎやうほう）の器量（きりやう）あり。此故にわがうけしところの胎（たい）
金（きん）両 部（ぶ）の大 法（ほう）秘密（ひみつ）印明〔ゐんみやう）みなこと〳〵く。なんぢに
さづく。よろしく此 法門（ほうもん）をよび諸道具（しよたうく）をもつて
日本にかへり。国中（こくちう）にひろむへし。しからば天下た

現代語訳

私が長い間、お前がこの国に来ることを知って、待ち続けていた」として、親しく交わられ、御弟子たちに語って言われるには、「この沙門は第三地の菩薩である。お前たちの智慧の及ぶところではない」と仰せられた。その年の夏六月に、大悲胎蔵大曼荼羅の灌頂で五部の誓水を受け、同じく秋七月に、金剛界の曼荼羅の灌頂に入る。八月に伝法阿闍梨位の灌頂を受ける。この日、恵果阿闍梨は空海を御前に召され、『金剛頂経』『大日経』『蘇悉地経』等の秘密経並びに絵図の曼荼羅、その他の諸道具を与え、授けて言われるには、「昔、大毘盧遮那・大日世尊が、秘密真言の印明をもって金剛薩埵に授けた。薩埵はこれを龍猛に伝え、それより転々として大広智に至った。大広智は三朝の灌頂の国師として、すでに今、我に授けた。お前は真に真言行法の器量がある。この故に我が受けたところの胎蔵・金剛両部の大法秘密印明を、みなことごとく、お前に授ける。よろしくこの法門と諸道具をもって日本に帰り、国中に広めるべし。そうすれば天下は…」

英語訳

"I have long known that you would come to this country and have been waiting," and he became intimately friendly with him. He spoke to his disciples, saying, "This monk is a bodhisattva of the third stage. He is beyond what your wisdom can comprehend." In the summer of that year, in the sixth month, he received the five-part sacred water in the initiation of the Great Compassion Womb Realm Mandala. In the autumn of the same year, in the seventh month, he entered the initiation of the Diamond Realm Mandala. In the eighth month, he received the initiation for the rank of Dharma-transmitting Acharya. On this day, Acharya Keika summoned Kūkai before him and bestowed upon him the secret sutras such as the Vajrasekhara Sutra, the Mahāvairocana Sutra, and the Susiddhikara Sutra, along with painted mandalas and other various implements, saying: "Long ago, the Great Vairocana, the Great Sun World-Honored One, bestowed the mudras and mantras of secret esoteric teachings upon Vajrasattva. Vajrasattva transmitted these to Nagarjuna, and from there they were passed down through generations until they reached Amoghavajra. Amoghavajra, as the national teacher who performed initiations for three dynasties, has already transmitted them to me. You truly have the capacity for esoteric practice. For this reason, I transmit to you completely all the great dharma and secret mudras and mantras of both the Womb and Diamond Realms that I have received. You should take these teachings and implements back to Japan and spread them throughout the country. If you do so, the realm will be..."
