一 石切旅稼之者壱人茂無御座候
右者村中一々相改申候処少茂相違
無御座候若有之茂不吟味成義有之候由
後日被遊及御聞候ハヽ其御元ゟ早速
御注進可被成候其上如何様之御咎筋
被 仰付候共聊御恨無御座候為後日
一札依而如件

差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、石切り出稼ぎの者は一人もおりません
右の件について、村中を一軒一軒改めて調査いたしましたところ、少しも相違ございません。もし後になって、調査が不十分であったということをお聞きになりましたら、その元締めから早速ご報告いたします。その上でどのようなお咎めを仰せつけられましても、少しも恨みに思うことはございません。後日の証拠として一札を差し上げます。よって件のごとし。

Regarding the above matter, we have inspected each household in the village one by one, and there are no discrepancies whatsoever. Should you later hear that there were matters we failed to investigate properly, the responsible party will immediately report this to you. Furthermore, no matter what punishment may be imposed upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. We submit this written pledge as evidence for future reference. Therefore, as stated above.
