ニ取退
〇黒谷ノ城ヲ大孝ト云道場坊モ持日野谷ノ事ヲ聞テ城ヲ
明退其跡ヲ馬上軒ト三河ノ八兵衛ト両人シテ持此仁ハ
柴田伊賀殿衆也

云遣ス上方者ヨリハ正月二日ニ腹巻イタスへキ由云遣ス此時
ノ使乞食ノ躰ニテ大杉ヘ紛入所ヲ番ノ者ミトカメトラヘサガス
綴ノ継目ノ内ニ腹巻ノ状アリ則使ヲ誅ス其後大杉ノ彦

故に遂に和談となり、黒谷・赤岩へ引き下がった。歩兵・法師・諸道具は散々に取り退いた。
○黒谷の城を大孝という道場坊主も持っていたが、日野谷の事を聞いて城を明け渡し退いた。その跡を馬上軒と三河の八兵衛と両人にて持った。この仁は柴田伊賀殿の衆である。
○馬上軒を伊賀殿へ用事があって呼ばれた。その跡にて八兵衛が大坂方になった《割書：八兵衛の舅は大坂方にて横北甚左衛門という者なり。甚左衛門の妹は美人であるため以前に婿となっていた。これにより心変わりした》。十二月十八日夜に色を立てた。馬上軒の人数はこれを聞いて用心した。東白（明け方）の時分に攻めたが、馬上軒の人数の腕の立つ者を五十程討った。
○加賀衆の紀伊守は信長方になり星ヶ峯を持った。加賀四郡の人数が十二月にこれを攻めた。大雪を掘って攻め寄せ、城中へ十四五間になった時分、大木を落として打ち殺し、寄せ手五十程が死んだ。紀伊守の子で予三といって天下一の美人の十七八の子があった。この子は鉄砲にて死んだ。紀伊守は切腹しようとしたが、家老どもが
させなかった。その後和睦になり大杉の道場へ行った。加賀衆が取り巻いて番をする。その後正月元日に腹巻をいたすべき様にと上方人数の方へ言い遣わした。上方の者よりは正月二日に腹巻をいたすべき旨を言い遣わした。この時の使いは乞食の体にて大杉へ紛れ入った所を、番の者が見とがめて捕らえ探したところ、綴の継目の内に腹巻の状があった。則ち使いを誅した。その後大杉の彦左衛門が二日の朝に紀伊守を振舞うべき旨、偽って言い遣わしたが、紀伊守はこれを知って煩いの由にて行かなかった。その後二日の日に紀伊守を攻めた。寄せ手の方より紀伊守の者どもに、出れば助けるべき旨を色々に呼んだ。残らず出てきた。縁のある者は助け、縁のない者は誅した。紀伊守一人が残った。その家へ入る者が無い処に九兵衛が入って刀二腰を取り出した。大将紀伊守は仏前に正木に腰をかけて座っていた。その後投げ込んで松にて焼き殺した。女原も残らず死んだ。

○Bajōken was called away by Iga-dono for business. In his absence, Hachibe sided with Osaka forces (marginal note: Hachibe's father-in-law was on the Osaka side, a man called Yokokita Jinzaemon. Since Jinzaemon's sister was a beauty, he had previously become his son-in-law. Due to this, his heart changed). On the night of December 18th, he raised his colors. Bajōken's forces heard of this and took precautions. When they attacked at dawn (tōhaku), about fifty skilled men from Bajōken's forces were killed.
○Kii-no-kami of the Kaga forces sided with Nobunaga and held Hoshigamine. The forces of Kaga's four districts attacked this in December. They dug through heavy snow to advance, and when they got within fourteen or fifteen ken of the castle, large logs were dropped to strike and kill them, resulting in about fifty casualties among the attackers. Kii-no-kami had a son called Yosan, a seventeen or eighteen-year-old who was considered the most beautiful in the realm. This child died from arquebus fire. Though Kii-no-kami tried to commit seppuku, his chief retainers
would not allow it. Afterwards there was peace, and he went to the temple at Ōsugi. The Kaga forces surrounded and guarded the place. Later, on New Year's Day, a message was sent to the Kamigata forces saying they should perform haramaki (ritual disembowelment). The Kamigata side replied that they would perform haramaki on January 2nd. The messenger at this time disguised himself as a beggar and slipped into Ōsugi, but the guards became suspicious, captured him, and searched him. Inside the seam of his stitched clothing was found a letter about the haramaki. The messenger was immediately executed. Later, Hikozaemon of Ōsugi falsely sent word on the morning of the 2nd that Kii-no-kami should attend a feast, but Kii-no-kami knew of this and did not go, claiming illness. Afterwards, on the 2nd day, they attacked Kii-no-kami. The attackers called out to Kii-no-kami's men in various ways, saying they would be spared if they came out. All came out without exception. Those with connections were spared, those without were executed. Only Kii-no-kami remained. When no one would enter his house, Kyūbei went in and brought out two swords. The general Kii-no-kami sat with his back against a wooden post before the Buddha altar. Afterwards they threw him in and burned him to death with pine wood. All the women also died.
○Moon Forest Castle was held by the ikki. Shibata-dono's forces attacked it, and all six to seven hundred in the castle died, while about three hundred of the attackers also died.
