一是迄風烈之節は月番之奉行所ゟ

　触継難行届及遅引候趣ニ相聞候間
　自今南之方は通壱町目北之方は

一、借家・店借の者たちは、五人三人ずつ組合を決めて置き、組合内で火の元について相互に注意し合うこと。

一、これまで風が激しい時は、月番の奉行所から小口年番名主を呼び出して、町中全体に触れ回らせていたが、場所が広い市中では迅速に触れ継ぎが行き届かず、遅れが生じているという話を聞いている。今後は、南の方は通一丁目、北の方は室町一丁目の自身番屋に役人を派遣し、火の元の警戒について通達する拍子木を打たせる。近隣の町や最寄りの町々も順次打ち継いで、山の手また武家屋敷まで

1. Tenants of rental houses and shops shall form groups of five or three people each, and within these groups they shall mutually watch out for fire hazards.

1. Until now, during times of strong winds, the monthly magistrate's office would summon the minor annual headmen to spread notices throughout all the towns. However, we have heard that in the extensive urban area, the relay of such notices cannot be carried out swiftly and delays occur. From now on, officials will be dispatched to the neighborhood watch posts—for the southern area to Tōri First District, and for the northern area to Muromachi First District—and they shall beat the clappers to communicate fire prevention instructions. Neighboring towns and nearby districts shall continue the relay in succession, extending to the hillside areas and samurai residences.
