現代語訳

橋番人掛かり名主共の申立て願いの通りお仰せ渡しになられましたならば、当年十月より来年三月まで六ヶ月分の御入用を年々お渡しいただけますよう仕りたき旨、本所見廻りが申し上げました趣は、余儀なき筋につき、増御入用をお渡しください。もっとも年々九月に本所見廻りより相伺い、橋番人掛かり名主共へ火の元守方、夜中小半時廻り等を厳重に相勤めるよう、右見廻りより申し渡しましたならば、毎年際立った流弊をいたさず然るべきかと存じ奉ります。

The district inspector has reported that this is an unavoidable matter, so please provide the additional expenses. It would be most appropriate if the district inspector inquires every September and instructs the bridge guard supervisory headmen to strictly perform fire prevention duties and half-hourly night patrols, as this would prevent any notable misconduct each year.
