　　相勤候ニ付御橋附之一方番役難相勤者共ニ御座候ニ付番人

現代語訳

相勤めておりますので、御橋付きの一方番役を勤めることが困難な者共がおりますため、番人と出商人が申し合わせて一夜二人ずつ詰めておりますが、小半時廻り等を厳重に相勤めておりますので、半夜代わり合いをしなければ行き届かない状況でございます。番人共の儀は、橋御用等がある節はもちろん、病気や差し合い等で自然と人数が少なくなった場合でも、自ずと夜番勤め方も引き続き相勤めるようになる儀に付き、別段夜番中増御手当てを下し置かれるよう願い上げ奉ります。
並びに夜番入用も去る亥年までの取り賄い方では行き届きかねますので、別紙の通り毎年十月より三月まで御橋入用を御下げ下され置かれるよう、御慈悲をもって願い上げ奉ります。以上

...are performing their duties, there are those who find it difficult to serve as bridge guard duties on one side. Therefore, the guards and merchants have agreed that two people should be stationed each night. However, since we are strictly performing the small half-hour rounds and other duties, it is impossible to manage properly without changing shifts at midnight. Regarding the guards, not only when there are official bridge duties, but also when the number naturally decreases due to illness or scheduling conflicts, they must continue to perform night watch duties continuously. Therefore, we humbly request that special additional compensation be granted during night watch periods.

Furthermore, the expenses for night watch cannot be adequately covered by the previous provisioning methods used until last Boar year, so we humbly request with your benevolence that bridge maintenance funds be provided annually from October through March as detailed in the attached document.
