現代語訳
馬助国行が院（八条院等）に事由を申し上げたところ、病気のため参入することができない
とのことであった。法皇は庭に降りて樹の下にお座りになったという。女院もまた車に乗って
庭に立たせなさったという。院の御所の破損は特に甚だしく、大略寝殿が傾き
危険で御所とすることができない状況のため、御北対（を御所とした）という。およそ往古より今に至るまで
異国や他の卿でも総じてこのような事があったとしても、末代の極み、天地の
悪事で、もしかすると国家を棄てるという事が明らかになったのであろうか。法皇は今熊野に御参籠
されていたが、この事を恐れてお出ましになったという。今日、広基（天文
博士）が地震の奏案を持参した。

七月に動く 百日以内に兵乱
上旬に動く 諸大臣に害あり
あるいはまた女王慎むべし 旱魃等
なお未来の徴候については次のことである。当時の天下の損亡を見れば、およそ
どうすることもできないという。主上は池の中島にお渡りになった。その後
また南庭に幄を立てて御在所となさった。内裏の西透廊が顛倒した
という。
十一月壬辰 晩頭に至って弁光雅が季長朝臣に札を送って
地震の間の事を問う。院宣である。今日、外記勘文を書写し、
文の間が深夜に及んだので明日申し上げるとした。

a curtained enclosure was erected in the southern garden to serve as his residence. The western corridor of the Imperial Palace
collapsed.
11th month, mizunoe-tatsu Toward evening, Secretary Mitsumasa sent a letter to Minister Suenaga
inquiring about matters related to the earthquake. This was an imperial command. Today, he copied documents from the court records office,
but since the writing extended late into the night, he decided to submit it tomorrow.
