【左丁】
あたりの大名様へ五百両ばかりに売るつもりで、二三軒もお目にかけたが、百両もすれば慰みにお買い上げになるけれども、少し値打ちが高すぎるといって断られた。その筈のこと、何も大名様に栄華の夢もいらぬこと。お楽しみは普段のこと。栄華を好む者には金がなく、金があれば枕にも及ばぬと笑う。

Those who desire glory and wealth have no money, and those who have money laugh that they have no need for such a pillow.
