道具一切不可相求事
一衣類之儀絹紬可着之尤小身之輩は木綿
紙子等をも可用但江戸表にて着不被仕
古￣キ衣類は何に而も不苦候惣而夏冬共に
麁服を可用附妻女之衣類応右麁相
なる衣服可着事
一出仕之節木綿裏付上下専可着之戻之肩衣
何にても上下替不苦但御客御使者有之
節は可有其品事
一面々組支配之者并召仕之男女衣類御家中
准御触段々麁服を着仕様に可申付事
一振舞停止但自然参会之節は兼而如御定
軽一汁三菜香物共に酒三返軽肴一種
食物有合之吸物軽肴一種可出之尤酒
可為同前事
一年始五節句惣而祝儀事家内にての取扱
諸事軽可仕為祝儀音物取遣候儀堅停止
現代語訳
道具一切は求めてはいけない事
一 衣類の儀について、絹紬を着用すべし。もっとも身分の低い者は木綿、
紙子等も用いてよいが、江戸表では着用してはならない。
古い衣類は何でも構わない。総じて夏冬ともに
粗服を用いるべし。付け加えて妻女の衣類も右に応じて粗相
なる衣服を着用すべき事
一 出仕の節は木綿裏付上下を専ら着用すべし。古い肩衣でも
何でも上下の代用として構わないが、御客や御使者がある
節はその品格に応じるべき事
一 面々組支配の者並びに召仕の男女の衣類について、御家中に
準じて御触れの段々により粗服を着仕するよう申し付けるべき事
一 振舞は停止する。但し自然に参会の節は兼ねてからの御定めの如く、
軽く一汁三菜、香物ともに酒三返、軽い肴一種、
食物は有り合わせの吸物、軽い肴一種を出すべし。もっとも酒は
同前とすべき事

All tools and implements must not be sought after.
One: Regarding clothing matters, silk tsumugi should be worn. However, those of lower status may use cotton or paper clothing, but these must not be worn in Edo. Old clothing of any kind is acceptable. In general, coarse clothing should be used in both summer and winter. Additionally, wives' clothing should also follow this principle and wear simple garments.
One: When attending official duties, cotton-lined kamishimo should primarily be worn. Old shoulder garments may substitute for kamishimo without problem, but when there are guests or official messengers, one should dress according to the appropriate rank.
One: Regarding the clothing of subordinates under each group's supervision and male and female servants, orders should be given to wear coarse clothing in accordance with the household regulations, following the successive proclamations.
One: Entertaining is prohibited. However, when naturally attending gatherings, following the established rules from before, serve lightly: one soup and three dishes, pickles, sake three times, one type of light side dish, available soup for food, and one type of light side dish should be served. The sake should remain the same as before.
One: For New Year and the five seasonal festivals, and all celebratory matters in general, household management should be conducted simply in all things. The practice of exchanging gifts for celebrations is strictly prohibited.
