一 家督振舞家老中招請之節ハ祝言之
料理可為同前事
一 江戸御供之面々衣類之儀御客有之節
又ハ御使者ニ罷越候刻ハ格別御番相勤候
節ハ麁服を可用雖為礼日上下替不苦但
持来衣類ハ何にても不限定紋有合ニ可着之
附召仕之下々ニ至迄衣類成程軽仕候様
可申付事
一 在江戸中面々振舞停止但寄合候共不断之
軽料理ハ可為格別自他所得客候共軽
可致饗応事
一 江戸表江之御使者之時分ハ大身小身共ニ
人数分限ゟ軽召連不苦候鑓にも応人数
為持可申候他国江御使之節ハ身体相応ニ
可召連候御使之品により人数之儀其節
目付中江相達可得差図事
一 御家中書中取遣薄奉書以下にて可相調
他所之儀ハ格別事
現代語訳
一、家督振る舞いにおいて家老中を招請する際は、祝言の
料理と同様とすべきこと
一、江戸御供の面々の衣類の件について、御客がある際
または御使者に罷り越す時は格別であるが、御番を相勤める
際は粗服を用いるべきである。礼日といえども上下を替えるのは構わないが、
持参の衣類は何でも限定せず、紋は有り合わせに着るべきである。
付け加えて召使いの下々に至るまで、衣類をなるべく軽くするよう
申し付けるべきこと
一、江戸在住中の各々の振る舞いは停止する。ただし寄り合いでも普段の
軽い料理は格別とする。他所から客を得ても軽く
饗応すべきこと
一、江戸表への御使者の時分は、大身小身ともに
人数分限より軽く召し連れるのは構わない。槍についても人数に応じて
持たせるべきである。他国への御使いの際は身体相応に
召し連れるべきである。御使いの品により人数の件について、その節
目付中へ相達して差図を得るべきこと
一、御家中の書中取り遣わしは薄奉書以下にて調えるべきである。

One: When inviting senior retainers (karō) to succession celebration banquets, the cuisine should be the same as for wedding celebrations.
One: Regarding clothing for those accompanying the lord to Edo, when there are guests or when going as messengers, special attire is appropriate, but when serving guard duty, simple clothing should be used. Even on formal days, changing upper and lower garments is acceptable, but brought clothing may be of any kind without restriction, and available crests should be worn. Additionally, even servants and lower attendants should be instructed to wear clothing as simple as possible.
One: Individual banquets while residing in Edo are prohibited. However, light meals for regular gatherings are exceptional. Even when receiving guests from elsewhere, hospitality should be kept light.
One: When serving as messengers to Edo, both high-ranking and low-ranking samurai may bring retinues lighter than their stipend would normally allow. Spears should also be carried according to the number of attendants. When serving as envoys to other domains, retinues should be appropriate to one's status. Depending on the type of mission, the matter of personnel numbers should be reported to the inspectors (metsuke) for guidance.
One: Correspondence within the domain should be prepared on thin hōsho paper or lower quality. Matters concerning outsiders are exceptional.
