長吉様為年始御祝儀初而 御登 城御太刀
馬代《割書：黄金｜十両》御献上御礼被 仰上呉服御拝領
一 同日御謡初為御祝儀御使者を以例之通御盃臺
御酒代被献之
一 同月七日為御上初御使者を以例之通御肴被献之
一 同月十七日御献上之生鱈昨夕亦復到着候得共今日
御日柄ニ付御献上難被成日間も相延候得共無御心許
ニ付其段御用番阿部豊後守《割書：正｜武》殿江御達上御献上無之
一 同月廿六日今度昌平坂江聖堂御建立ニ付通鑑節要
玉煙堂法帖幷深衣十具御寄附御使者御留守居

一 二月廿一日 公領之百姓於御城下侍中ニ対し
慮外其外 乗打等不致様於御代官所堅被申付段
御代官諸星内蔵助 殿下代之者町奉行渥美
新右衛門《割書：友｜信》方江罷越物語致候段新右衛門相違之依之
兼而被 仰出与有之候得共猶以御代官中ハ不及申
下代等ニ至迄野辺ニ而行合候節無礼無之様町在江

長吉様が年始の御祝儀のため初めて御登城し、御太刀
馬代《注記：黄金十両》を御献上し、御礼を申し上げ、呉服を御拝領した

御酒代を献上した

一、同月十七日、御献上の生鱈が昨夕また到着したが、今日は
御日柄により御献上が難しく、日数も延びているが、御安心いただけないので
その旨を御用番阿部豊後守《注記：正武》殿へお伝えし、御献上は行わなかった
一、同月二十六日、今度昌平坂へ聖堂御建立につき、通鑑節要、
玉煙堂法帖並びに深衣十具を御寄附し、御使者御留守居
加賀藤左衛門《注記：成興》を通じて聖堂へ納めた
一、二月二十一日、公領の百姓が御城下の侍衆に対し
無礼その他の乗打などを行わないよう御代官所において厳重に申し付けた旨を
御代官諸星内蔵助殿の下代の者が町奉行渥美
新右衛門《注記：友信》方へ出向いて報告したところ、新右衛門が相違があると言ったため
かねてより仰せ出でられていることであるが、なお一層御代官中は申すまでもなく
下代などに至るまで野辺で行き合った節には無礼のないよう町在へ

Chōkitsu-sama made his first castle visit for New Year congratulations, presented ceremonial sword and horse substitutes (note: ten ryō of gold), offered his respects, and received silk garments as gifts.
One: Same day - For the New Year poetry recitation ceremony, through a messenger, ceremonial sake cups and sake money were presented as usual.
One: Same month, 7th day - For the New Year calligraphy ceremony, through a messenger, ceremonial delicacies were presented as usual.
One: Same month, 17th day - Fresh cod for presentation arrived again yesterday evening, but due to today being an inauspicious day, presentation was difficult. Though days have passed, to avoid causing concern, this matter was reported to the duty officer Abe Bungo-no-kami (note: Masatake), and no presentation was made.
One: Same month, 26th day - In connection with the construction of the Confucian shrine at Shōheidai-zaka, the Tsūgan Setsuyō, Gyokuendō calligraphy collection, and ten sets of deep robes were donated and delivered to the shrine through messenger and deputy castellan Kaga Tōzaemon (note: Narioki).
One: February 21st - It was strictly ordered at the deputy's office that farmers of the public domain should not commit acts of rudeness or mounted violence against samurai in the castle town. When a subordinate of Deputy Morohoshi Kuranosuke reported this to Town Magistrate Atsumi Shin'emon (note: Tomonobu), Shin'emon cited discrepancies. Therefore, while this had been previously proclaimed, it was [ordered that] not only the deputies but even their subordinates should avoid rudeness when encountering [people] in the countryside, [extending this order] to towns and villages...
