行うべきであったところ、
将軍様が牧野備後守成貞殿のもとへお成りになることにより、御勤めがなかった。
還御後、御参府の御案内のため御使者・御留守居を派遣した。翌十日に御廻勤を行った。
一 四月十一日、右同様により上使として御老中土屋相模守政直殿がお越しになり、上意の趣旨をお達しになった（上使の御取扱いは例の通り）。御退出後、そのお礼として御老中・御側御用人・若年寄中へ御廻勤した。
一 同月二十二日六時半に登城した（昨日一日、御用番戸田山城守忠昌殿より御切紙が来た）。御参勤の御礼を申し上げ、例の通り御太刀・銀・綿を御献上し、御台様へは白銀・縮緬を指し上げた。御退出の際、御老中・御側御用人・若年寄中へ御廻勤した。
一 同日、歳暮御祝儀御献上につき御内書を御城においてお渡しがあった。御家来拝領物等は例の通りである。
一 同月二十六日、御使者をもって例の通り御国産の初鯖を献上した。
一 同月二十九日、御用番戸田山城守忠昌殿へ御養子の御願書をお持参した。

because the Shogun visited Makino Bingo-no-kami Narisada, there was no official duty.
After returning, messengers and caretakers were sent as a courtesy for attending the capital. On the following 10th day, courtesy visits were made.
One: On April 11th, for the same reason as above, Senior Councilor Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami Masanao came as an official envoy and conveyed the Shogun's intentions (the handling of the official envoy was as usual). After his departure, courtesy visits were made to the Senior Councilors, chamberlains, and junior councilors as thanks.
One: On the 22nd of the same month at 6:30, he ascended to the castle (yesterday, a formal notice came from Toda Yamashiro-no-kami Tadamasa, who was on duty). He offered thanks for sankin-kōtai attendance and, as usual, presented a ceremonial sword, silver, and cotton. To the Shogun's wife, he presented white silver and crepe silk. Upon departure, courtesy visits were made to the Senior Councilors, chamberlains, and junior councilors.
One: On the same day, regarding the year-end congratulatory offerings, an official letter was handed over at the castle. Gifts bestowed upon retainers, etc., were as usual.
One: On the 26th of the same month, through a messenger, the first mackerel of the domain's products was presented as usual.
One: On the 29th of the same month, a petition regarding adoption was brought to Toda Yamashiro-no-kami Tadamasa, who was on duty.
As I have no male heir, I wish to adopt Chōkichi, the younger brother of Matsudaira Nagato-no-kami, who is now thirteen years old, [and arrange his marriage to] my adopted daughter who is now ten years old.
