こそめ
ここは大方、歌の道を習っているとお思いでしょうに、思いもよらぬとんだご伝授でした。しかし光様、当分のお慰みではお恨みでございますよ。
みつ
人の娘を慰み話にするような不実はない。三鳥三木の伝授より、三重続けの伝授が肝心。よく覚えて忘れまいぞ。

Kosome
You probably thought we were here learning the way of poetry, but what an unexpected and outrageous "transmission" this turned out to be! However, Mitsu-sama, if this is merely temporary amusement, I will resent it.
Mitsu
I would never be so faithless as to treat someone's daughter as mere entertainment. More important than the transmission of "three birds and three trees" is the transmission of "triple succession." Remember this well and never forget it.
