御登城されるようにいたしたく候。貴様の御代において、前々からの御作法を相止め申すということでは、越前守殿の御心志にも相違することになります。今朝、渡部大隅殿、阿部四郎五郎が参りまして、一昨日か御見舞い申し上げましたが、お目にかかれませんでした。何とぞ年内に御登城されるようにいたしたく、その旨を申されましたので、私が申し遣わす旨を申すことでございます。御家のため第一は公儀への御奉公とお思いになり、御勤めになることが御尤もと存じ奉ります。以上

I would like you to attend court. In your reign, if you cease the previous practices, it would go against the intentions of Echizen-no-kami. This morning, Watanabe Ōsumi and Abe Shirōgorō came and said they tried to visit you the day before yesterday but could not meet with you. They said they would like you to attend court within this year, so I am conveying this message. I respectfully believe that the first priority for your house is to serve the shogunate, and your dutiful service would be most appropriate. Above.
