一今度越前守跡式職結構拙者被仰付段々
御懇之上意難有仕合《割書：ニ》奉存候 其刻乍卒爾
申出候中務世忰仙菊義猶子《割書：ニ》仕度旨奉願候
此上弥願之通被仰付候様《割書：ニ》各様も御取持奉願候
一権蔵儀但馬守殿《割書：ニ》被指置被致苦労候段於拙者
別而難義奉存候得共越前守存生《割書：ニ》被申越家来共《割書：ニ》も
為申聞候旨御座候故唯今対面可仕共難申候 併
家督之儀拙者《割書：ニ》被仰付候上ㇵ権蔵《割書：江》合力《割書：ニ》而も
心安仕諸事用等を達シ遣し度存候条何分《割書：ニ》も
但馬守殿へ被仰達御合点被成候様《割書：ニ》御肝煎可被下候
拙者方ゟ使者を以成共可申達候ヘ共若御返事を
指つかへ候義御座候へㇵ如何《割書：ニ》候間大和守殿御相談

現代語訳
一、今度越前守跡職に結構な私が仰せつけられた段々、御懇意の上意ありがたい仕合いに存じ奉り候。その刻、卒爾ながら申し出でます中務の世継ぎ仙菊の義、猶子にいたしたき旨お願い奉り候。この上いよいよ願いの通り仰せつけられ候ように、皆様方もお取り持ちをお願い奉り候。
一、権蔵の儀、但馬守殿にお預けになられ苦労をなされている段、私においては格別に難儀と存じ奉り候得ども、越前守存生中に申し越され家来どもにも申し聞かせられた旨がございます故、ただ今対面いたすのも難しく申し候。併せて家督の儀、私に仰せつけられ候上は、権蔵へ合力にても心安くいたし、諸事用向きなどを達し遣わしたく存じ候条、何分にも但馬守殿へ仰せ達され御合点なされ候ように御肝煎りくださるべく候。私の方より使者をもって申し達し候へども、もし御返事を差し支え候義ございます場合はいかがに候間、大和守殿とご相談なされ、然るべきように御指図頼み入り候。
一、権蔵の御目見の義、但馬守殿の御願いの由にございます。私も皆様のご同意に申し入れるのが然るべく候場合は、これまた首尾よきようにお仰せ談じ頼み存じ候。もし但馬守殿、右両条を皆様が仰せられて御承引なき候場合は、御老中へ御内意を窺い候てなりとも願い申したく存じ奉り候。右の条々存じ寄せ口上書け
英語訳
Item: Regarding my being appointed to the excellent position of Echizen-no-kami's successor, I am most grateful for His Lordship's kind consideration. At this moment, though it may be presumptuous to mention, I humbly request that Senkiku, the heir of Nakatsukasa, be made my adopted son. I earnestly request that all of you intercede so that this wish may be granted as requested.
Item: Regarding Gonzō, who has been entrusted to Tajima-no-kami and is experiencing hardship, I find this particularly troubling. However, since Echizen-no-kami during his lifetime had conveyed instructions and made this known to his retainers, it would be difficult for me to meet with him now. Nevertheless, now that I have been appointed to succeed the house, I wish to provide assistance to Gonzō and handle various matters with ease. Therefore, I request that you intercede with Tajima-no-kami so that he may understand and agree to this arrangement. Although I could send a messenger from my side to convey this, if there should be any difficulty in receiving a response, I would like Yamato-no-kami to consult and provide appropriate guidance.
Item: Regarding Gonzō's audience with the Shogun, I understand this is Tajima-no-kami's petition. If it would be appropriate for me to add my voice to your collective agreement, I hope you will discuss this matter favorably. Should Tajima-no-kami not agree to these two matters despite your intercession, I would like to petition even if it means seeking private consultation with the Council of Elders. These are my thoughts written as an oral statement.
