拾遺集恋 題知らず 柿本人麻呂
足引きの山鳥の尾のしだり尾の長々し夜を独りかも寝む
○上【四角囲い文字】長々しい夜を恋しい人にも会わずに独り寝ることであるなあ

田子の浦ゆうち出でて見れば真白にぞ富士の高嶺に雪は降りける
○田子の浦より出て見ればはあ真っ白に富士の高嶺に
雪が降ったことよ
古今集秋 是貞の親王の家の歌合の歌 猿丸大夫
奥山に紅葉踏み分け鳴く鹿の声聞く時ぞ秋は悲しき
○秋は総体悲しい時節であるが、その秋の内では又どういう時が一番
悲しいかと言えば、紅葉ももう散ってしまった奥山でその散った紅葉
を鹿が踏み分けて歩いて鳴き声を聞く時分が秋の内では一番悲しい
時節である 踏み分けは鹿の踏み分けることである

鵲の渡せる橋に置く霜の白きを見れば夜ぞ更けにける
○はあいかにも夜が更けたことよ。あの鵲の橋の上に
真白に霜の置いたのを見れば

In the deep mountains / treading through fallen leaves / the crying deer's voice— / when I hear it then / autumn is most sad
○Autumn is generally a sad season, but within that autumn, what time is the
saddest? When the autumn leaves have already scattered in the deep mountains and one hears the crying voice of deer treading through those fallen leaves—that is the saddest time within autumn. "Treading through" refers to the deer's treading.
