現代語訳

分沖合へ渡来した処、早速用意を整え出船をも行い、数日警固の御用を相勤め勤労したにつき、御褒美として綿二把を下し置かれ、かつ臨時の御用をも出精した段を仰せ出され候事

一、同年六月、馬術師範当座仮役を仰せ付けられ、御馬共を御預け成され候事

一、同年十月、■手を出精したにつき、御酒を下され候事

一、同年十一月、一足並を出精し三ヶ年上等の位にしたにつき、御酒を下され候事

一、同年十二月、頭林又吉が病死につき、跡の御役を田中鉄次郎組に罷り成り候事

一、同三年（辰年）三月、去冬の船打の節、目当打ちに中ったにつき、御酒を下され候
　但し目当中りの吟味に罷座出た節も、右同様に御酒を下され候事

一、同四年（巳年）二月、去る辰年の船打の節、火術御用懸りの形をもって相勤め

英語訳

When [foreign ships] came to the offshore waters of the domain territory, he quickly made preparations and dispatched ships, serving guard duty for several days with diligence. For this service, he was given two bundles of cotton as a reward, and it was officially announced that he had worked diligently on emergency duties as well.

一、In the 6th month of the same year, he was appointed to the temporary position of equestrian instructor and was entrusted with the care of the horses.

一、In the 10th month of the same year, for his diligent work in ■ [unclear activity], he was given sake as a reward.

一、In the 11th month of the same year, for his diligent practice in synchronized formation and achieving superior rank for three years, he was given sake as a reward.

一、In the 12th month of the same year, due to the death by illness of squad leader Hayashi Matakichi, the successor position was assigned to Tanaka Tetsujirō's unit.

一、In the 3rd month of the same 3rd year (Year of the Dragon), for hitting the target during last winter's naval gunnery practice, he was given sake as a reward.
　Note: When he attended the target-hitting examination, he was similarly given sake as a reward.

一、In the 2nd month of the same 4th year (Year of the Snake), during the naval gunnery practice of the previous Dragon year, he served in the capacity of gunnery duty supervisor.
