○蒲公英（タンポポ）は花が白く大きなものと、黄色で小さなものがある。二月三月に花が咲く。葉を取って食用にする。
○菫菜（スミレ）は一名を箭頭草（センドウソウ）という。相撲取り草ともいう。花は紫色、白花、また薄紫色のものもある。葉は丸く小さい。
○虎杖（イタドリ）は月経を通じさせ、瘀血を破る。渇きを止め、小便の出を良くし、腹の張り満ちるのを治す。

○萱草（ワスレグサ）は花が鬼百合のように黄赤く、初夏に咲く。春の若葉を取って食用にする。水気、乳房の腫れ痛みを治す。食欲を増進させ、これを好んで食べれば喜びがあって憂いがなくなる。花が八重咲きのものは毒があり、誤って食べてはいけない。
○酢漿（カタバミ）は一名を酸草（サンソウ）という。俗にはすいものぐさという。

○Dandelion (tanpopo) has large white flowers and small yellow ones. The flowers bloom in February and March. The leaves are harvested for food.
○Violet (sumire) is also called arrow-head grass (sentōsō). It is also called sumo wrestler's grass. The flowers are purple, white, or light purple. The leaves are round and small.
○Japanese knotweed (itadori) promotes menstruation and breaks up stagnant blood. It stops thirst, promotes urination, and treats abdominal distension and fullness.

○Day lily (wasuregusa) has yellow-red flowers like tiger lilies and blooms in early summer. Young leaves are harvested in spring for food. It treats fluid retention and painful swelling of the breasts. It aids digestion, and those who enjoy eating it will have joy and no worries. Double-flowered varieties are poisonous and must not be eaten by mistake.
○Wood sorrel (katabami) is also called sour grass (sansō). Commonly known as "lazy person's soup herb."
