【右頁上段】
○維摩居士ともいわれる。手に払子を持ち、方丈の室内に八方の獅子の座を飾り、三千の大衆を入れて法門を説かれた。
○山越の弥陀は比叡山横川の峰に阿弥陀仏の尊いお姿を現されたのを、恵心僧都が拝まれて写し取られたということである。
○聖徳太子は人王三十二代用明天皇の皇子である。三十四代推古天皇の御代に摂政であった。日本仏法の祖である。物部守屋を滅ぼし、摂津国天王寺を建立された。

○出山の釈迦は如来が十七歳で出家し、三十歳の時、十二月八日明星が出る時に廓然大悟を示し、正覚を成就された。
○誕生仏は釈迦如来が卯月八日寅の刻に誕生され、七歩歩まれ、左右の手で上下を指さして「天上天下唯我独尊」と言われたということである。入滅は二月十五日である。

○Also called Vimalakirti Layman. Holding a fly whisk in his hand, he decorated eight lion seats in all directions within a square chamber and admitted three thousand assembled people to preach the Dharma.
○The Amida of Mountain-Crossing refers to when Amida Buddha manifested his noble form on the peak of Yokawa at Mount Hiei, which the priest Eshin Sozu reverently observed and copied.
○Prince Shotoku was the son of Emperor Yomei, the 32nd human emperor. He served as regent during the reign of Emperor Suiko, the 34th emperor. He is the founder of Japanese Buddhism. He destroyed Moriya and established Tennoji Temple in Settsu Province.

○The Buddha Leaving the Mountains refers to how the Tathagata left home at seventeen years of age, and at thirty years old, on the eighth day of the twelfth month, when the morning star appeared, he achieved sudden great enlightenment and attained perfect awakening.
○The Birth Buddha refers to how Shakyamuni Tathagata was born on the eighth day of the fourth month at the hour of the Tiger, took seven steps, and pointing up and down with his left and right hands, declared "Above heaven and below heaven, I alone am honored." His parinirvana was on the fifteenth day of the second month.
