○役行者（ゑんのきやうじや）は役小角（ゑんのせうかく）とも
いふ和州（わしう）の人／葛城山（かづらきやま）に入
て孔雀明王（くじやくみやうわう）の法（ほう）を行（おこな）ひ
後（のち）に母（はゝ）を鉢（はち）入て入唐（につとう）し

○巨霊人（これいしん）は大／力（りき）神通（じんつう）

○六祖大師は唐土にて達磨より第六祖、諱は恵能。この下より禅宗五家に分かれる。大鑑禅師は贈り号である。
○伝教大師は最澄ともいう。日本天台の開祖である。延暦二十一年に入唐し、五十六歳六月四日に入滅した。
○役行者は役小角ともいう。和州の人で、葛城山に入って孔雀明王の法を行い、後に母を鉢に入れて入唐された。

○寒山子は初唐の人。天台山に隠れて常に拾得と法友であった。後にその去った所を知る者はなく、文殊の化身であるという。
○拾得は豊干禅師が道の傍らで拾い得たため拾得という。常に寒山と交わり、その終わりを知る人はいない。
○巨霊人は大力神通を得た仙人である。山を劈く力があり、常に白虎を愛する。

【Right Page, Upper Section】
○The Sixth Patriarch Master was the sixth patriarch from Daruma in China, his personal name being Huineng. From this point, Zen Buddhism divided into five schools. Dajian Chanshi is his posthumous title.
○Master Dengyo is also called Saicho. He is the founder of Japanese Tendai Buddhism. He entered Tang China in the 21st year of Enryaku and entered nirvana on June 4th at the age of fifty-six.
○En no Gyoja is also called En no Ozunu. He was a person from Yamato Province who entered Mount Katsuragi and practiced the dharma of Kujaku Myo-o (Peacock Wisdom King), and later put his mother in a bowl and entered Tang China.

○Hanshan was a person of early Tang. He hid in Mount Tiantai and was constantly a dharma friend with Shide. Later, no one knew where he went, and it is said he was an incarnation of Manjusri.
○Shide is so called because Chan Master Fenggan found and picked him up by the roadside. He constantly associated with Hanshan, and no one knows of his end.
○The Giant Spirit is an immortal who obtained great power and supernatural abilities. He has the power to split mountains and constantly loves the white tiger.
