○張九歌は宋の時代に都に住んでいた。冬の月でもただ単衣を着るだけであった。皇帝が不思議に思って召し出して酒を飲ませた。ある日、王に謁見して暇乞いをし、薄い紙を蝶の形に切って、これを放つとことごとく飛び去った。また招くと帰ってきて元の紙となったという。
○鉄拐仙人は虚空に向かって自分の姿を吹き出す術を得た仙人である。
○蝦蟇仙人は常に蝦蟇を愛したゆえにその名を得たという。

○西王母は仙女である。前漢の武帝に桃を献上した。味がとても美味である。皇帝が核を植えようとしたところ、王母が言うには「この桃は三千年に一度花咲き実る。一つ食べれば三千年の寿命を保つ」と。東方朔がこの桃を三つ盗み食いしたという。
○通玄は張果老ともいう。瓢箪の中から馬を出す術を得た仙人である。

○Zhang Jiuge lived in the capital during the Song dynasty. Even in winter months, he wore only single-layer clothing. The emperor found this strange and summoned him to drink wine. One day, he had an audience with the king and requested leave. He cut thin paper into butterfly shapes, and when he released them, they all flew away. When he beckoned them back, they returned and became paper again.
○The Iron Crutch Immortal was an immortal who obtained the technique of blowing his own form into the void.
○The Toad Immortal received his name because he constantly loved toads.

○Queen Mother of the West was an immortal woman. She presented peaches to Emperor Wu of the Former Han dynasty. The taste was extremely delicious. When the emperor wished to plant the pits, the Queen Mother said, "These peaches bloom and bear fruit once every three thousand years. Eating one will preserve life for three thousand years." Dongfang Shuo stole and ate three of these peaches.
○Tongxuan is also called Zhang Guolao. He was an immortal who obtained the technique of producing horses from inside a gourd.
