○犬は味が塩辛く、温性で毒は
ない。五臓を安定させ、気を
増し、腎に良い。
○㺜犬は毛が長い。

毛深い犬である。
○蝟鼠は貒のようで
脚が短く尾が長い。
色は青白く、足の毛が
人を刺す。山谷や田野に

○The mastiff is a large dog.
Those with a height of four shaku
are called gō. Commonly, these are
called Tang dogs (Chinese dogs).
○Dogs have a salty taste and are warm in nature with
no toxicity. They stabilize the five
organs, increase qi, and are good
for the kidneys.
○The nōken has long fur.
It is the same as the mōkōshiken,
a shaggy dog.
○The hedgehog is like the mita-tanuki
with short legs and a long tail.
Its color is bluish-white, and its foot fur
stings people. It lives in mountain valleys
and fields. It is the same as the i (hedgehog).

and they harm things.
