○鶁（ムクトリ）は小ムクと言う。大きさはヒヨドリより小さく、頭は白く、背中は黒白の毛がある。秋の中頃に多く群れをなして渡る。味は美味である。
○椋鳥（ムクドリ）は大ムクと言う。小ムクより大きく、羽の色も異なる。夏秋の頃にやって来るが、群れにはならない。
○菊戴（キクイタダキ）は非常に小さな鳥である。全身は薄青色で、頭頂に黄色い毛がある。天気がよく暖かであれば、頭頂の毛を開くと中から紅色の毛が現れる。冬に渡来する鳥である。

【Right page, upper section】
○The starling (mukutori) is called "small muku." Its size is smaller than a bulbul, with a white head and black and white feathers on its back. In mid-autumn, many migrate in flocks. Its taste is delicious.
○The white-cheeked starling (mukudori) is called "large muku." It is larger than the small muku, and its feather colors are also different. It comes during summer and autumn but does not form flocks.
○The goldcrest (kikuitadaki) is an extremely small bird. Its entire body is light blue, with yellow feathers on the crown. When the weather is fine and warm, if it spreads the feathers on its crown, red feathers appear from within. It is a bird that comes in winter.
