【右頁上段】
○桧（ヒノキ）は深山にあって、大木となる。白木の木具や曲物などは、みなこの木を用いて最上とする。また櫂に作るものである。
○円柏（イブキ）は葉がカヤに似ていて、実は松に似ている。尖って固い。ただし葉は桧に類似して色が黒く、皮が粗い。檼栢も同様である。
○檉（ムロ）は檉柳である。一名を雨師という。皮が赤い。

○杉（スギ）は深山に生育するもので大木となる。木立は真っ直ぐで枝葉が茂る。煎じて毒瘡を洗い、水に浸して脚気や腫満を治す。
○仙栢（イヌマキ）は槙の葉に似ている。実の形は手を合わせたようである。一名を羅漢松という。

○Hinoki cypress grows in deep mountains and becomes large trees. For white wood utensils and bentwood items, this wood is used and considered the finest quality. It is also made into oars.
○Chinese juniper (ibuki) has leaves resembling kaya (Japanese torreya) and fruit resembling pine. The leaves are pointed and hard. However, the leaves are similar to hinoki with a black color and rough bark.檼栢 is the same.
○Muro is tamarisk (teiryū). It is also called "rain master." The bark is red.

○Cedar (sugi) grows in deep mountains and becomes large trees. The tree stands straight with dense branches and leaves. When decocted, it is used to wash poisonous sores, and when soaked in water, it treats beriberi and swelling.
○Buddhist pine (inumaki) has leaves resembling maki. The shape of the fruit is like hands pressed together in prayer. It is also called arhat pine.
