○テマリは葉が丸く、花は白くて手毬のような形をしている。4月に花が咲く。玉繍花（ぎょくしゅうか）とも繍毬花（しゅうきゅうか）ともいう。カンボクという木もテマリに似た花である。大手毬と小手毬の二種類がある。
○アジサイは5月に花が咲き、テマリに似ている。色は瑠璃色、また薄紅色や白もある。葉はテマリに似ているが、葉先が尖っている。木の高さは3～4尺である。

○マサキノカズラの別名を木饅頭（もくまんじゅう）といい、また鬼饅頭（きまんじゅう）ともいう。秋の終わりに青い実がなり、中は赤い。
○クチナシは花が白く、5月に咲く。実は黄色で染色に用いる。上焦の熱を下げ、痰を治療する。花を簷蔔（せんぷく）という。

【Right Page, Upper Section】
○Snowball bush (temari) has round leaves and white flowers that resemble hand balls. It blooms in April. It is also called gyokushūka (jade embroidered flower) or shūkyūka (embroidered ball flower). The viburnum tree also has flowers similar to temari. There are two varieties: large temari and small temari.
○Hydrangea blooms in May and resembles temari. The color is lapis lazuli blue, and there are also light red and white varieties. The leaves are similar to temari but the leaf tips are pointed. The tree height is 3-4 shaku (about 0.9-1.2 meters).

○Creeping fig (masaki no kazura) is also called mokumanjū (wooden steamed bun) or kimanjū (demon steamed bun). At the end of autumn, it bears blue fruits that are red inside.
○Gardenia has white flowers that bloom in May. The fruit is yellow and used for dyeing. It reduces heat from the upper burner and treats phlegm. The flower is called senpuku.
