(Continued from previous page) …he performed his duties admirably, and was graciously commended (*shōbi*) for his efforts.
1. In the Year of the Rabbit, Kyōhō 8 [1723], his petition to exchange residences (*aitate-gae*) with Takemura Shinzaemon was granted in accordance with his wish.
2. In the 1st month of Kyōhō 9, the Year of the Dragon [1724], his petition to take Tetsuemon, the fourth son of Ichinose Jinzaemon, as a son-in-law and adopted heir (*muko-yōshi*) was granted in accordance with his wish.
3. In the 3rd month of Kyōhō 10, the Year of the Snake [1725], in accordance with his petition, his son Magosaburō was appointed as his replacement guard (*ban-dai*).
4. On the 6th day of the 8th month of Genbun 1, the Year of the Dragon [1736], he died of illness at the age of sixty-two. His posthumous Buddhist name (*hōmyō*) was Jizen'in Dōshi. His place of burial is the same as above.
