It was proclaimed that he had diligently and faithfully performed his duties as chief functionary (*shuyaku*) of the Military Studies Academy (*Bugakuryō*).
One: In the same Year of the Rooster (Bunka 10, 1813), he was appointed as *Kuji Bugyō* (Magistrate of Judicial Affairs).
One: In the same Year of the Rat (Bunka 13, 1816), on the first month, it was noted that since the aforementioned Year of the Rooster (Bunka 10), an unprecedented number of investigations and inquiries (*senzaku/tadanuki*) had been conducted, including some that were particularly complex and entangled. The fact that all inquiries were completed in time for the lord's arrival (*go-nyūbu*) was regarded as the result of his utmost diligence and effort. As a reward, he was granted one tan of bleached cloth (*sarashi*) in lieu of a formal hemp ceremonial vest and hakama (*asa no kamishimo*).
One: In the same Year of the Ox (Bunka 14, 1817), fourth month, as the *Machi Bugyō* (Town Magistrate) post was currently filled by only one person,
**[Left Side]**
he was ordered to serve as acting *Machi Bugyō* (*Machi Bugyō kariyaku*), limited to instances of investigations (*tadakata*) and cases of fire outbreaks.
Note: He was relieved of this duty in the sixth month. Thereafter, he was repeatedly appointed to this role in the same manner.
One: In the first Year of the Tiger of Bunsei (Bunsei 1, 1818), third month, in recognition of his diligent service, he was granted as a reward one used (*ofuru*) small-sleeved robe (*kososde*) and two silver coins (*ginshi*).
One: In the second Year of the Rabbit of Bunsei (Bunsei 2, 1819), fourth month, it was recognized that the resolution of 130 cases of inquiry (*senzaku*) conducted during the preceding spring was ultimately the result of his exhaustive effort and bold execution of his duties. As a reward, he was granted five bundles of cotton (*wata*).
