龍脳菊
山に自生する白菊である。美濃、近江、下野足尾、武蔵国多摩川、その他諸国の山中にある。丹波亀山の産物は花が大きい。高さは二尺ほど。葉は小さく、香りが龍脳に似ている。康熙菊譜に記載されている龍脳菊、また小銀台というのがこれである。これは蘇頌が説いたところの白菊の類である。

この種を朝日という
形は甘菊に似て高さは四、五尺。中国原産のものもあり、日本産の種類は非常に多い。種を植えて花の色が変わるため、その名前の数は知ることができない。菊経に詳しく記載されている。中国では范成大菊譜、康熙菊譜、花史左編、群芳譜、秘傳花鏡等に種類の名前を挙げている。

Camphor chrysanthemum (ryūnō-kiku)
This is a white chrysanthemum that grows wild in the mountains. It is found in the mountains of Mino, Ōmi, Shimotsuke Ashio, Musashi Tamagawa, and various other provinces. The variety from Tanba Kameyama has large flowers. It grows to about two shaku in height. The leaves are small and the fragrance resembles camphor. This is the camphor chrysanthemum recorded in the Kangxi Chrysanthemum Manual, also called kogindai (small silver platform). This is a type of white chrysanthemum as described by Su Song.

This variety is called asahi
The form resembles sweet chrysanthemum and grows four to five shaku tall. There are also Chinese varieties, and Japanese varieties are extremely numerous. Because the flower colors change when planted from seed, the number of their names cannot be known. This is described in detail in the Chrysanthemum Classic. In China, the variety names are listed in works such as Fan Chengda's Chrysanthemum Manual, Kangxi Chrysanthemum Manual, Flower History Left Volume, Comprehensive Fragrant Manual, and Secret Flower Mirror.
