右十二味 冬至（とうし）の日こまかに粉にして升麻（せうま）をせんし竹瀝（ちくれき）を
等分（とうぶん）にまぜ神曲（しんきく）を粉にしてとき糊（のり）にしまへの粉薬（こくすり）を
ねり丸し辰砂（しんしや）雄黄（ゆうわう）等分（とうぶん）よくすり粉にして衣（ころも）にかけ
疱瘡はゆるとき二三丸竹の葉（は）を煎（せん）じ用ゆかならず
ほうそうをまぬかるべしやみても至てかるし

現代語訳
芥穂（がいすい） 苦参（くじん） 紫蘇（しそ） 防風（ぼうふう）《各九分》
右十二味を冬至の日に細かく粉にして、升麻を煎じ、竹瀝を等分に混ぜ、神曲を粉にして溶き糊にし、前の粉薬を練って丸し、辰砂、雄黄を等分によくすり粉にして衣にかける。
疱瘡が発症したときは二三丸を竹の葉を煎じた汁で服用する。必ず疱瘡を免れることができ、かかっても非常に軽く済む。
人中黄の作り方：大きな甘草の皮を削り去り、青竹の節を一方に残して切り、その竹の中へ甘草を入れ、竹の口をしっかりと塞ぎ、水が入らないようにして大便の中に浸すこと四十九日。取り出して洗い干し、中の甘草を取り出し、日に晒して干し、細かく粉にする。

Preparation of Human Waste Yellow: Scrape away the skin of large licorice root, cut green bamboo leaving one node, put the licorice inside the bamboo, tightly seal the bamboo opening to prevent water entry, and soak in feces for forty-nine days. Remove, wash and dry, take out the licorice from inside, expose to sunlight to dry, and powder finely.
