Mudō-in, Kyōzen-in, and up to North Umamichi; South Umamichi burned to the corner. On the east side of Umamichi: Seiryū-in, Senryō-in, Senzō-in, Shuzen-in, Myōtoku-in, Iō-in, Mandara-dō, Kongō-in, Kakuzen-in, Hōzen-in, Myōon-in, and Kenshō-in—along with many iroha row houses—all burned. In the Asakusa temple grounds, the trees of various shrines in Okuyama were all damaged. Within the temple complex: Seichi-in, Chōju-in, Shōzō-in, Jumyō-in, Shōfuku-in, Chikō-in, Baien-in, Jissō-in, Shōju-in, Konzō-in, Shinchi-in, and Nichion-in, with iroha row houses behind them, were all severely damaged. The Kannon main hall, mountain gate, Niō gate, bell tower, Zuishin gate, Raijin gate, and Sansha Nembutsu hall were unharmed. The finial of the five-story pagoda was slightly bent.
In the area near Higashi Bridge and the river, fires burned north to Sanya-bori, leaving many collapsed houses. Within this area, Matsuchi-yama was unharmed. About half a block north of Sanya Bridge near Imado Bridge burned. The areas before and after Hashiba and Ginza burned, with very many collapsed houses. The eta district remained. From Henshō-ji temple and Sōsen-ji to Masaki Inari suffered major damage. The restaurants Kawaguchi and Yanagiya were unharmed. Sanya-chō, Asakusa-chō, continuing to Nakamura-chō, Kozukahara-chō, and up to Senju-juku Ōhashi had many severely damaged houses.
The main hall of Asakusa Hongan-ji was unharmed. Among the sub-temples: Kyōkaku-ji, Senshō-ji, Gyokusen-ji, Shugan-ji, Enshō-ji, Hōyū-ji, Ungyō-ji, Raiō-ji, and Kōen-ji were severely damaged. Many houses collapsed in Seigan-ji gate-front district. Around Nichirin-ji gate and elsewhere in this area, many houses collapsed in total ruin, making it difficult to distinguish between districts. Half a block of Gyōan-ji gate-front district opposite Kikuya Bridge burned. Similarly, over one block burned westward to Shinbori-bata. Many houses collapsed near Abe-gawa district.
From the corner in front of the restaurant called Hatsu-fuji in Komagata-chō, everything on the south side burned completely. Not a single storehouse remained in this area. The south side of Suwa-chō burned. In Kurofune-chō, a pawnshop storehouse remained. The rice wholesaler at the right corner was half-burned. The riverside area of Miyoshi-chō remained. It stopped at Umaya-gashi. Kuramae-dōri suffered minor damage.
The fire started from Shitaya Shichiken-chō. Both houses of Lord Bingo Izumo to the south were severely damaged. Daishō-ji, Kōshō-ji, and Shingyō-ji, as well as Lord Izumo's upper residence across the way, were half-burned. However, from Reien-ji's lower residence on the opposite side of Shichiken-chō, southward: town houses, Kyūshō-ji, Chūkō-ji, Lord Komiyagawa Hōchō Hina, Myōken-ji, Seikei-ji, and Tōen-ji burned. Lord Kitsuregi's residence was half-burned. To the south, Kaya-chō 2-chōme, and across from it Shōgyō-ji and Kōan-ji, as well as Kyōshu-ji to the east, burned. The fire stopped there. This covered from the middle of Kaya-chō 1-chōme to 2-chōme.
From Shitaya Sakamoto 1-chōme to 3-chōme, everything burned completely. To the north, Kanasugi...
