ゆりいだし
江戸四里四方は

其外在々
に至るまで諸々大潰れとなり其後所々ゟり出火して御屋敷幷に寺院町屋土蔵等大破損死亡の者けが人数しれず天災とは申ながら人々奇急の思ひをなし皆野宿して夜の明るをまち翌朝五つ時所々の火鎮り初めてこゝろを休めける

安政2年10月2日夜四つ時過ぎより大地震が突然に揺り出し、江戸四里四方は言うに及ばず、その外の在郷に至るまで諸々大崩壊となった。その後所々から出火して、御屋敷並びに寺院、町屋、土蔵等が大破損し、死亡者や負傷者の数は知れない。天災とは言いながら、人々は驚愕の思いをなし、皆野宿して夜の明けるのを待ち、翌朝五つ時に所々の火が鎮まり、初めて心を休めた。

Abbreviated Map of Fire Sites from the Great Edo Earthquake
On the night of October 2nd, Ansei 2 (1855), after the fourth hour, a great earthquake suddenly began shaking. Not only within four ri of Edo proper, but even the surrounding rural areas suffered massive destruction. Afterwards, fires broke out in various places, causing severe damage to mansions, temples, townhouses, storehouses, and other buildings. The number of deaths and injuries was countless. Though this was called a natural disaster, people were filled with shock and terror, all sleeping outdoors and waiting for daybreak. At the fifth hour the following morning, when fires in various locations were finally extinguished, people could rest their hearts for the first time.
