一、毎日立ち入る商人を吟味の上、御門入札を渡すのがよい。この件は十分に調査しなければ支障をきたすこともあろうから、調査して伺いを立てるよう

○御預かり所村々の御取箇の件、年々豊作に従い取り計らい方に油断はないはずであるが、続けて作柄が悪いため、やむを得ず減石とはいえ、度々厳重に仰せ出されたところ、その効果も見えず、また去る戌年立会検見を仰せ出された節は、わずかに営作の様子もよい年に向かい、相応の御取箇もできたが、何かと取り計らい方が行き届かないような御評議にもなる御節は、御振り合いもよろしくなく、かえって村のためにもならないから、百姓共も実意を込めて心得違いのないよう申し渡し、万端手抜きのないよう御代官共が十分に心配して取り計らうよう申し聞かせるべきこと
八月二十九日
御目付へ
○長谷川弥右衛門養妹ゆんの件、大奥に召し仕えられ格式等もよく仰せ付け置かれたところ、病気につき長々と御暇を願い、首尾よく御暇を下し置かれた。長々召し仕えた者共が病気を快癒して縁談をまとめるとも、侍格合以下へは嫁がせないよう仰せ出された。この段、大御番頭が心得置き、弥右衛門へ申し聞かせるよう各々から申し通すべきこと

御傳役へ
○来る辰年の御帰国の件は、若殿様が御名代として入国される段、御内意が仰せ出された。そのように心得るべきこと

○ Regarding the tax collection from villages under direct administration: Although there should be no negligence in handling procedures according to yearly good harvests, due to continued poor crops, unavoidable tax reductions have been necessary. Despite repeated strict orders issued, no effectiveness is seen. Moreover, during the inspection ordered in the previous Dog Year, when crop conditions were slightly better and appropriate tax collection was possible, whenever deliberations suggest that handling procedures are inadequate, this reflects poorly and does not benefit the villages either. Therefore, the farmers should be instructed to act with sincerity and avoid misunderstandings, and the local governors should take great care to handle all matters without negligence.
August 29th
To the Inspector
○ Regarding Yun, the adopted sister of Hasegawa Yaemon: She was employed in the great interior with good rank appointed, but due to illness requested extended leave, which was favorably granted. It is ordered that when those who have served for long periods recover from illness and arrange marriages, they should not marry below samurai rank. The chief of the great guard should keep this in mind and inform Yaemon, as should be communicated by all.
