〇松平和泉守殿領分上石田村在田村川舟持共御領分川舟持同様舟役相勤度
　旨願出天王陣屋へも右之趣願出候ニ付天王役方ゟ掛合有之依之御領分川舟持共
　一通り吟味有之候処右願之通被仰付候而も故障之儀も無之却而和■【馳？】ニも相成候旨ニ付

　役人指添ニ不及其趣意委細書認村継を以役所へ可指出候捕違之儀ハ不苦候間
　厳敷取扱可申候見付候節追散温便ニ致置候村方等閑之取扱追而相聞候ハヽ其
　村咎可申付事ニ候間無油断厳重ニ可相心得候品ニ寄御褒美可被下置候右体之趣前
　ニも相触候へ共猶又此度改而被仰出候

　追而相聞候節ハ急度可被仰付候此儀最前も相触候へ共一同心得方等閑ニ相聞不

御水主頭　
○松平和泉守殿の領分である上石田村・在田村の川舟持たちが、御領分の川舟持と同様に舟役を勤めたい旨を願い出て、天王陣屋へも右の趣旨を願い出た。これについて天王役方より掛合があり、これにより御領分の川舟持たちを一通り吟味したところ、右の願いの通り申し付けても故障もなく、かえって便宜にもなる旨であった。内許の趣を御奉行共まで達せられ承知させた。いよいよ右の願いの通り申し付けて故障がない件であれば、それぞれ取り計らうべきである。
一、御領分の舟大工たちはこれまで職役を勤めていなかったが、職役を勤めて他所他領より御領分へ入り込んでみだりに働くことは相成らない旨を申し付けて下さるよう、近年舟大工たちが相願った。これにより願いの通り申し付けても指し支えはない旨が達せられた。いよいよ右の通り申し付けても故障がない件であれば、よろしく取り計らうべきである。

○近頃村方の所々で盗賊・火付・押乞等の者が徘徊している様子がほぼ相聞こえる。右のような者を見つけ次第、早速召し捕るべきである。もし手向かいするならば手強く取り扱い、傷付け即死等に及んでも構わない。召し捕ったならば村役人を指し添える必要はなく、その趣意を委細に書き認め、村継ぎをもって役所へ指し出すべきである。捕り違えの件は構わないので厳しく取り扱うべきである。見つけた節に追い散らして穏便に済ませた村方の等閑な取り扱いが後に相聞こえるならば、その村を咎めることになるので、油断なく厳重に心得るべきである。品によっては御褒美を下し置かれるであろう。右のような趣は前にも相触れたが、なお又この度改めて仰せ出される。

　付記：昨二十日に町方へ町役所より左の通り相触れた由　ただしこの節御家中へも御触れがある
○近頃所々で盗賊或いは付火等の件が相聞こえる。右のような者を見つけたならばその所に捕らえ置き早々申し出るべきである。もし手向かいするならば手強く取り扱い、傷付け即死等に及んでも構わない。右のような者を追い散らして穏便に済ませ、後に相聞こえる節には必ず申し付けられるであろう。この件は最前にも相触れたが、一同の心得方が等閑に相聞こえ不埒のことである。なお又この度改めて仰せ出されるので、この節は別して油断なく厳重に吟味を遂げ、右のような者を召し捕ったならば御褒美の御沙汰にも及ぶであろうので、右の趣を町中残らず、寺社門前・借屋地・名子地方等まで漏れのないよう必ず申し付けるものである。

○The boatmen of Kamisekida Village and Zaita Village in the domain of Lord Matsudaira Izumi-no-kami have petitioned to perform boat duties in the same manner as the boatmen of our domain, and have also submitted this petition to the Tennō administrative office. Since the Tennō officials made inquiries about this matter, a general investigation of the boatmen in our domain was conducted. It was found that granting their petition would cause no problems and would actually be convenient. The decision has been communicated to the magistrates for their understanding. If granting the petition as requested would indeed cause no problems, appropriate measures should be taken accordingly.
Article 1: The boat carpenters in our domain have not been performing official duties until now, but they have recently petitioned that they be allowed to perform official duties and that carpenters from other places and domains should not be permitted to enter our domain and work indiscriminately. It has been communicated that granting this petition would cause no hindrance. If implementing this as requested would indeed cause no problems, it should be handled appropriately.

○Recently, it has been roughly reported that thieves, arsonists, extortionists and such are wandering around various places in rural areas. Such individuals should be immediately arrested upon discovery. If they resist, they may be handled forcefully, and it is acceptable even if this results in injury or immediate death. When arrested, there is no need for village officials to accompany them; the details should be written down thoroughly and submitted to the administrative office through village relay. Mistaken arrests are acceptable, so handle strictly. If it is later learned that villages discovered such individuals but dispersed them and handled the matter leniently, those villages will be punished, so be vigilant and strict in your attention. Depending on the case, rewards may be granted. Although such matters were communicated before, they are proclaimed again at this time with renewed emphasis.

　Addendum: Yesterday on the twentieth, the town office issued the following notice to the townspeople. Note that at this time, there was also a notice to the retainers.

Although this matter was communicated before, since everyone's attention appears to have become lax and this is improper, it is proclaimed again with renewed emphasis. These instructions should be communicated without fail throughout the entire town area, including temple and shrine precincts, rental housing areas, tenant farmer areas, etc., ensuring no area is overlooked.
