現代語訳
も御届けされ、来る戌年から10ヶ年の間、格別な御倹約を仰せ出された。これにつき御形合（儀礼・格式）の事も思し召しをもって改められるので、何でも御為御益筋の面々は格別に存じ詰めて出精するよう仰せ出された。よって別紙書付を渡す。右の通り心得て取り計らうべきである。
ただしこの度仰せ出された趣旨について、その役筋それぞれに支配のある面々へはそれぞれ申し聞かせるべきである。
十二月十七日

一 御表様・若殿様の御勤めの事は御三家様方並びに御三卿様方のみ御勤めされる事。その他の御勤めは御断りの事。
ただし御一門様方の事は御在府中に一度ずつ御勤めされる事。
一 公儀御霊屋御参詣の事は、年始・盆中並びに御祥月・御参府・御発駕の御参詣の事。
一 御手前御参詣の事は、年始・盆中・御参府・御発駕・御祥月の御参詣の事。
ただし覚了院様御霊前へは毎月御参詣の事。
一 若殿様御参詣の事も右に準ずる事。
ただし御代々様は年始・盆中・惣御参詣・御祥月御参詣、覚了院様・菩提心院様と御同様の事。
一 御中屋敷の御目付御番を止めて、見廻りのみを仰せ付ける事。
一 御上屋敷・御中屋敷ともに御医師は日中の当番のみで、泊まりは免除される事。
一 御中屋敷御玄関上御番所は御徒のみで、御番士は止める事。
一 御部屋附御小姓詰を二人減らす。
一 御供立の事は左の通り。

一 これまで御供馬三疋の所、この度からは御時宜役から一疋を牽かせる事。並びにこれまで御供立へ立てた御供槍三本の所、この度からは御目付から一本、御時宜役から一本、御供頭から一本差し出すべき事。
一 総じて同勢はできるだけ減らすべき事。
一 若殿様の御供も御同様に減らすべき事。
ただし御略供の節は、只今まで御行列へ立てた御供槍三本を御近習から差し出していた所、この度から止めて御目付・御時宜役から持たせるべき事。

1. Regarding the official duties of His Lordship and the Young Lord: only duties to the Three Branch Houses and Three Lords will be performed. All other official duties are to be declined.
However, members of the main family branch will perform duties once during their Edo residence period.
1. Regarding visits to the Shogunal Mausoleums: visits at New Year, Obon, monthly memorial days, arrival in Edo, and departure.
1. Regarding personal visits: visits at New Year, Obon, arrival in Edo, departure, and monthly memorial days.
However, visits to Lord Kakuryōin's spirit shall be made monthly.
1. The Young Lord's visits shall follow the same pattern.
However, visits to successive lords shall be at New Year, Obon, general memorial services, and monthly memorial days, the same as for Lords Kakuryōin and Bodaishin'in.
1. Guard duties at the middle mansion are discontinued; only patrol rounds will be assigned.
1. At both the upper and middle mansions, physicians will only serve day shifts; overnight stays are exempted.
1. At the middle mansion's entrance guardhouse, only foot soldiers will serve; samurai guards are discontinued.
1. Reduce personal attendant pages by two persons.
1. Retinue arrangements are as follows:
Palanquin bearers: reduce by 2; foot soldier inspectors: reduce by 1; advance foot soldiers: same reduction
1. Whereas previously three horses accompanied the retinue, from now on the protocol officer shall lead one horse. Also, whereas previously three ceremonial spears were carried in the retinue, from now on the inspector shall provide one, the protocol officer one, and the retinue head one.
1. Overall, reduce the size of accompanying forces as much as possible.
1. The Young Lord's retinue shall be similarly reduced.
However, for abbreviated processions, whereas previously three ceremonial spears were carried by personal attendants, from now on this is discontinued and they shall be carried by inspectors and protocol officers.
