昨廿五日従土屋相模守殿以切紙赤穂之城渡方之者共幷
地方役人少々残置其外は勝手次第引払候様に可申付之
旨我等方江被仰渡候各可被得其意候依之別紙に相記遣候間
書付之通り相残其外は四月十五日迄に物静に可被引
払候猶使者口上可申述候也

口上書
昨二十五日、土屋相模守殿より切紙を以って、赤穂の城受け渡し方の者どもならびに地方役人少々を残し置き、その外は勝手次第に引き払うように申し付けるべきの旨、我等方へ仰せ渡され候。各々その意を得らるべく候。これにより別紙に相記し遣わし候間、書付の通りに相残し、その外は四月十五日までに物静かに引き払われるべく候。なお使者の口上申し述ぶべく候也。

Oral Statement
Yesterday, the twenty-fifth day, through an official note from Lord Tsuchiya Sagami-no-kami, it was conveyed to us that a few persons in charge of the transfer of Akō Castle and some local officials should remain, while all others should withdraw at their convenience. Each person should understand this intention. Therefore, we have written this on a separate paper - those designated in the written order should remain, while all others should withdraw quietly by the fifteenth day of the fourth month. The messenger will further explain this orally.
