○一、安芸守様からの御使者井上団右衛門・丹羽源兵衛は四月九日到着
宿は赤穂かりや町 また道中より先だって丹羽源兵衛組の川北忠右衛門という者を進藤瀬兵衛方より《割書：騎馬頭》進藤源四郎方へ飛脚として派遣し、宿などを見せてまた途中へ出迎えに行ったとのことです。
○一、団右衛門・源兵衛は内蔵助と会合し、江戸表の様子や安芸守様の思し召しを段々と申し伝え、諸事について話し合ったとのことです。

Niwa Genbei and other minor officials departed from Edo on March 25th and were dispatched.
○1. The messengers from Lord Aki-no-kami, Inoue Dan'uemon and Niwa Genbei, arrived on April 9th
Lodging at Kariya-machi in Akō Also, beforehand from the road, a man named Kawakita Chūuemon from Niwa Genbei's group was sent as an express messenger from Shindō Sehei's place to Shindō Genshirō's place {{marginal note: cavalry head}}, showed them the lodgings and also went out to meet them on the way.
○1. Dan'uemon and Genbei met with Kuranosuke, conveyed the situation in Edo and Lord Aki-no-kami's intentions step by step, and discussed various matters.
