○一 土佐守様より御徒の永沢八郎兵衛・築山新八を四月九日三次より出発させ、赤穂表の義についてお聞きになるためお付け置かれた由。もっとも団右衛門の方へ便りをしている。同二十二日三次へ帰る。
○一 多川九左衛門・月岡次右衛門が江戸より四月十一日帰着し持参した、戸田采女正殿よりの御書付の写し

多川九左衛門・月岡次右衛門両使者をもって書付を差し越された。紙面の趣旨について、家中の面々が不行き届きであるのは、当地に不案内であることが原因である。内匠は日頃より公儀の勤仕を重んじて行っている段については各々存じている。

○One: Lord Tosa-no-kami dispatched foot soldiers Nagasawa Hachirōbei and Tsukiyama Shinpachi from Miyoshi on the 9th day of the 4th month to inquire about the situation at Akō. They were assigned [to this task]. They have been corresponding with Dan'uemon's side. They returned to Miyoshi on the 22nd of the same month.
○One: A copy of a written document from Lord Toda Uneme-no-shō, brought back by Takawa Kyūzaemon and Tsukioka Jiuemon, who returned from Edo on the 11th day of the 4th month:
Verbal Statement
Through the two messengers Takawa Kyūzaemon and Tsukioka Jiuemon, a written document has been sent. Regarding the content of this document, the inadequacies among the retainers are due to their unfamiliarity with the local area. Everyone knows that Takumi has always devoted himself earnestly to serving the government.
