所御寝間辺を掃除仕候所江彼之宗円参候而是に御座候かと
申候故源五申候は如何仕候而参候哉と申候得は先刻江戸より罷帰見
納と存参候由申候源五左様に而は有之間敷候何そ不手可仕ため
と見へたり悪きやつと叱り候得は足軽共承り頓而取而おさへ鼻紙
袋を取出し改候得は金五両有之候に付五人之足軽配分仕宗円
をは追出し申候其不手数々之由
〇一此度落去に付村々百性共庄屋共と公事有之庄屋共召連
毎日郡代佐々小左衛門方江参る

現代語訳
場所で御寝間辺りを掃除していた所へ、あの宗円がやって来て「これはこちらにございますか」と申したので、源五が申すには「どうして参られたのですか」と申したところ、「先刻江戸より帰参いたし、見納めと存じて参りました」と申したとのことです。源五は「そのようなことではあるまい。何か不正を働くためと見えた。悪い奴だ」と叱ったところ、足軽共がこれを聞いて、すぐに取り押さえ、鼻紙袋を取り出して改めたところ、金五両があったので、五人の足軽で配分し、宗円は追い出しました。その不正は数々あったとのことです。
○一 この度の落去（領地没収）に付いて、村々の百姓共と庄屋共との間で公事（訴訟）があり、庄屋共を召し連れて毎日郡代佐々小左衛門方へ参っています。

At the place where they were cleaning around the lord's sleeping quarters, that Sōen came and asked "Is this here?" When Gengo asked "Why have you come?", he replied "I just returned from Edo and thought to take a final look." Gengo said "That cannot be the reason. It appears you came to commit some misconduct. You scoundrel!" and scolded him. When the foot soldiers heard this, they immediately seized him, took out his nose-paper pouch and searched it, finding 5 ryō of gold, which the five foot soldiers divided among themselves, and Sōen was expelled. His misconducts were numerous, it is said.
