之趣堅相守事
一喧嘩【資料は口＋花】口論停止之訖若違犯之輩あらは双方可誅罰
之万一令荷担は其科可重於本人事
一猥に不可伐採竹木幷不可押買狼藉事
一家中之面々武具諸道具可任其身心家中之輩城下引
払之義十左衛門采女幷御代官到着より三十日限りたるへし
但給人赤穂領に有之度輩は遂穿鑿心次第先可差
置候立退度族は先々に而無違犯可宿借旨両人より
證文可遣候事
現代語訳
この趣旨を堅く守ること
一 喧嘩・口論を停止すること。もし違反する者がいれば双方とも誅罰すべし。万一加担した者はその罪を本人より重くすること
一 みだりに竹木を伐採してはならず、また押し買いや狼藉をしてはならないこと
一 家中の面々の武具・諸道具はその身に任せるべし。家中の者たちが城下から立ち退くことについては、十左衛門・采女並びに御代官が到着してから三十日を期限とすべし。ただし給人で赤穂領にいたい者については詮議を遂げ、心次第でまず差し置くべし。立ち退きたい者については、先々において違犯なく宿を借りる旨、両人から證文を遣わすこと
英語訳
The intent of this should be strictly observed.
One: Fighting and quarreling are prohibited. If there are any violators, both parties shall be punished. Should anyone take sides, their crime shall be considered more severe than that of the principals.
One: Bamboo and trees shall not be cut down carelessly, and forced buying or violent behavior is forbidden.
One: The weapons and various tools of the retainers shall be left to their discretion. Regarding the retainers evacuating from the castle town, the time limit shall be thirty days from the arrival of Jūzaemon, Uneme, and the deputy official. However, for stipend-receiving retainers who wish to remain in Akō domain, after thorough investigation and at their own discretion, they may first be allowed to stay. Those who wish to leave shall receive written guarantees from two persons that they will rent lodgings elsewhere without committing any violations.
