浅野長矩公と吉良義央両家の滅亡ならびに長矩の家臣大石良雄による亡主への報復の次第
○一、元禄十四年辛巳年二月三日、御用の件があるので明日四日五時半に登城するようにとの老中連名の切紙が到来。御月番は秋元但馬守殿（喬朝、従四位下侍従、居城は甲州谷村）
○一、同四日、浅野内匠頭長矩と伊達左京亮宗春（従五位下諸大夫、居城は伊予吉田三万石）が殿中において、このたび天子（仙洞第五皇子、御名は朝仁）の年頭祝賀のため、勅使両伝奏である柳原大納言（後廉、正二位、二百石余）、高野中納言（保春、従二位、御蔵米）、ならびに仙洞（後水尾院皇子、御名は識仁）の使者である清閑寺中納言（照定、従二位、百八十石）の参向に際して御馳走を行う

The downfall of both the Asano Naganori and Kira Yoshihisa houses, and the account of how Naganori's retainer Ōishi Yoshio avenged his deceased lord
○ On the 3rd day of the 2nd month of Genroku 14 (1701), Year of the Metal Snake, a written notice signed jointly by the Senior Councilors arrived, stating that there was official business and that attendance at the castle was required at 5:30 AM on the following 4th day. The monthly duty councilor was Lord Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Takatomo, Junior Fourth Rank Lower, Chamberlain, with his castle at Yatsumura in Kai Province).
○ On the same 4th day, Asano Takumi-no-kami Naganori and Date Sakyō-no-suke Muneharu (Junior Fifth Rank Lower, Shōdayū, with his castle at Yoshida in Iyo Province, 30,000 koku) were to host imperial envoys in the palace. This was for New Year celebrations for the Emperor (the fifth imperial prince of the Retired Emperor, named Prince Asahito). The imperial envoys were the two court messengers: Yanagiwara Dainagon (Gorin, Senior Second Rank, over 200 koku) and Takano Chūnagon (Yasuharu, Junior Second Rank, imperial granary rice), as well as the messenger from the Retired Emperor (imperial prince son of Retired Emperor Go-Mizunoo, named Prince Satohito), Seikanji Chūnagon (Terusada, Junior Second Rank, 180 koku).
